I heard your message but no chance to call today. Work and taxes and financial planning are taking their toll. But I was able to briefly escape last night to Olympic Greek Tavern and got another unusual and great compliment. An older tenor I know who I haven't seen in months heard me sing last night and came over and said my voice had made an astounding improvement. I told him I had taken three lessons with you and that was the difference.
He said I was no longer singing with a pinched sound. That is interesting because, obviously out of politeness, neither he nor anyone else had told me that I'd been singing with a pinched sound. But now that it's been eliminated, I am getting the more accurate feedback. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I am still in an extremely difficult place time-wise, but definitely want to resume our lessons in a few weeks. You have to get me ready for my big Nessun dorma!!
PS: I was finally able to play back the end of last lesson. You were right. Remarkable difference. I then went and practiced in front of a mirror and you were right about that too, of course.
